My business is going Gangbusters all of the sudden. Not sure why. I guess it may be time for my customers to do their marketing plan, and I am lucky enough to be in it. I am working on building a new website for the business. I want to get more heavily into the data processing business.
I have to work this weekend. It is kind of a drag, but I did get Thursday and Friday off which was nice. It is nice to get a day or two off during the week every once in a while. Unfortunately It seems like I spent most of my weekend at Walmart. Don't know how that happened. We have been having to work a lot on the weekends lately because we have a new loan accounting system that is almost ready to roll out to our users. The more testing we do on it, the more sure we are that it is ready, and the better we get to know how it works. It will be nice to have hands on experience when the users call us with questions about this software.
I got some new toys. My CD burner is pretty old, It was a 32X4X8. I bought a new one 52X32X52. I burn a lot of CDs for my business, so that should help out quite a bit. I also got some more Ram for my Windows machine. It has been crashing a lot lately. The CPU fan mechanism on that machine was quite a bad fit for the motherboard that it is on, and as a result a lot of dust gets deposited on my RAM. I have had to replace Ram 3 times in 3 years to keep that machine operational.
My philosophical thought of the month: It seems to me that deep down in our soul, there is a hunger for selfless giving. The most amazing experiences in life are rooted in this hunger. Childbirth is an amazing example. I am certain that watching my children come into the world is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. The amount of pain that my wife went through to bring them into the world strengthened the bond between the children and herself. The transition from pure agony to pure joy that she experienced could not be obtained any other way. Seems like a tear comes to our eye when we hear of the various heroic acts that are performed each day. The sacrifices of organ donors, firefighters, policemen, soldiers. All willing to give of themselves to make life better for somebody else. When a man and a woman agree to forsake all others and to love each other in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer, it is another beautiful sacrifice.
It is a pity that more people are not willing to give like this.. So many people are waiting to have children until they can "afford it". People waiting until they are more financially secure before they give to charities.. People leaving their spouses because the relationship requires too much effort, or not getting married at all. All of these decisions can feel right, but they will not feed the hunger of your soul.
This hunger is also fulfilled by the Christian faith. Christ selflessly humbled himself, and came to earth in human form. He came to be a servant, and to sacrifice himself -enduring immense pain and humiliation- dying so that others could have life. As followers of Christ, We should be selfless servants. God knows what fulfills our soul, and that is why Christ directed his followers to serve others in the way that he served them.

Wow, Someone actually told me that they read this site... I figure that means that I should keep writing to keep it current.
We have been very busy. Andee has been working some lately training somebody to do her former job at 911. It is pretty hard to have her working even 2 nights a week. Julia asked me to take her to the mall Wednesday. Pretty scary! Neither Andee or myself really have the shopping genes. We like to run in grab what we want and run out. Must be the influence of the Grandmas.
My Uncle Rick and and Denise where in town today. It was a fun to see them. They have a daughter (My cousin) who is a first grader. Her personality seems a lot like Julia's, and they played together very well all weekend.
My BSF class is going pretty well. I was really impressed with David passing on his multiple chances to kill Saul. Saul had been hunting him for years, and when David had the opportunity to kill him, he just verbally rebuked him, and left the justice to God. I think about how often we work to tear down our rivals rather than build them up and set them straight.
Our church is growing like wildfire! It is awesome to see God changing so many lives each and every week.
